How to Choose the Right Lead Capture Template for Your Industry

1 min read

Browsing a template catalogue is pleasant and rarely decisive. Everything looks good in the preview, because previews are filled with content that fits perfectly. The useful question is not which template is most attractive, but which one survives contact with your actual business.

Start from what you are asking for

A page that collects an email for a guide needs very little. A page that books a site visit needs to establish trust, show the area you cover, and make the calendar step painless. Decide what the visitor is agreeing to, then pick a layout with room for exactly that much persuasion and no more.

Check it against your real material

  • Do you have photographs of your own work, or will the page lean on stock imagery?
  • Do you have testimonials you can attribute to a named customer?
  • Is there a price you are willing to publish, or does pricing require a conversation?
  • How long is your shortest honest description of what you do?

A template with three testimonial slots is a liability if you have one testimonial. Choose for the content you have now, not the content you intend to gather.

Then consider the industry

Industry conventions matter less than people expect, but they are not nothing. Trades and home services do well with proof of work and a clear service area. Professional services tend to need credentials visible early. Retail and events live or die on dates, availability and a photograph. Pick the template that makes the most important of those the easiest thing to see.
